The announcement of 'Fantastic Four' suggests it might be Marvel's

We have a date (July 25, 2025), we have a cast (Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn), and we have an official image, which is an illustration that anticipates the return of the Fantastic Four. At this point, about a year and a half after the release of that new film, any speculation is considered to be valid. The fact of the matter is, however, that the illustration that Marvel shared on its social networks provides some hints that ought to be investigated, as it is possible that these hints reveal what lies in store for us with this new adaptation. Without a shadow of a question, the most striking aspect of the advertisement is the fact that it has a style that is blatantly vintage. Even more impressive is the fact that Pedro Pascal uploaded the poster to Instagram, accompanied by the song “All You Need Is Love” by the Beatles, which was released in 1987.

This retro setting suggests a style that is less cynical and more innocent than the style of the contemporary Marvel Cinematic Universe flicks, which are always on target with their sarcasm. The appearance of HERBIE, a robot whose initials equate to Highly Engineered Robot Built for Interdimensional Exploration and which was born in the 1978 animated series, where it replaced the Human Torch, is evidence that these were different times for superheroes. It is important to note that when we talk about retro, we are not simply referring to the current context. The billboard itself exudes an aura of nostalgia, both in terms of the fonts and the very nature of the ad itself, which is a direct reference to Matt Shakman, who has been assigned the role of director for the film. You only need to remember the variety of tones and styles that peppered the credits and settings of the series (and more importantly, not as empty tributes, but with plot justification) to know that the style of this advertisement is more than just a purely aesthetic decision. Shakman was the person responsible for “Wandavision,” and you can tell that this advertisement is more than just an aesthetic choice.

Although we had never particularly enjoyed the look of its various iterations in the cinema (with the exception of the extremely inexpensive 1994 film, which was the one that was most faithful to the comics), we had previously stated when the announcement was made that we adored this Thing on the poster. In addition, the photograph in which Ben Grimm is depicted in his human form not only enables us to verify that Ebon Moss-Bachrach will bring him to life, but it also provides a hint about his history. The photograph is a typical NASA photograph from the time period of the Apollo missions into space. Does this imply that Grimm will continue to be a member of the space agency?

It is arguable that Marvel’s Fantastic Four (2025) is one of the most significant films released by the studios since Iron Man (2008).
