Rockstar said the PC version of ‘GTA VI’ is not “written in stone”

By b0oua Jun 3, 2024

The only thing that we do not know about the next Grand Theft Auto installment on the personal computer is that we do not know anything about it.

After the trailer that was released in December of last year, which confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI would be available on both the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series, there has been no fresh official announcement regarding the game. As an illustration, and given that the trailer did not mention that format, will we be able to play it on our own computers? During an interview that took place at the 52nd Annual Technology, Media, and Telecom Conference hosted by TD Cowen, Strauss Zelnick, the Chief Executive Officer of Take-Two Interactive, which is the owner of Rickstar, provided specifics of the matter.

“the lack of announcements is not something that is written in stone,” Zelnick has stated, indicating that he has not confirmed either of the two possible outcomes. It is important to note that the absence of advertisements should not be interpreted as an indication of anything. On top of that, he goes on to elaborate, saying, “The only thing that happens after the absence of an announcement is an announcement, I suppose, or a continued lack of announcements, which I suppose could also happen.” It does not appear to me that one of those things is going to be a permanent fixture.

What he does highlight is the fact that “the right strategy for our business is to be where the consumer is, and historically what this company has done is address consumers where they are, on whatever platform makes sense, over time.” In other words, as Zelnick writes, “further announcements will be made in due course.” There will be further announcements.

In point of fact, a significant number of the most recent games developed by Rockstar and Take Two have been released on consoles in the past, and then on personal computers a few months later. In the case of the fifth chapter of the Grand Theft Auto series, the format took a year and a half to complete. This phenomenon occurred in Grand Theft Auto IV, Grand Theft Auto V, LA Noire, and Red Dead Redemption 2. For the time being, it is more advantageous for us to remain seated and refrain from updating our personal computer in order to ensure that it is capable of withstanding the technical monster that is expected to be Grand Theft Auto VI.

The development of Grand Theft Auto VI has reached its conclusion. And despite the fact that Rockstar has not provided any additional information regarding extremely exact dates, the current progress of the project, or any other issues, the excitement is palpable. Every time one piece of information or a potential technical problem with the upcoming game is disclosed, the Internet goes into a frenzy, the number of subjects that are trending skyrockets, and players wonder if this new version will be a revolution in the industry like all the others have thought it will be.

In order to provide answers to those queries, or at the very least to begin doing so, we have searched the internet for all we know about the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI and provided answers to it. For situations in which there is no data available, we have made assumptions based on the various options that are available to us. The following is everything that we know (or believe we know) about Grand Theft Auto VI.

Fall of 2025 is when the game will be released for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox. In its initial trailer, Rockstar merely mentioned the year 2025; however, in its results report for the fiscal year that concluded in 2024, the company shifted its focus to include a more specific year.

Prior to the announcement, we were aware of something: Rockstar asserted that it has been working on the game since before April 2020. If we are going to make a comparison, Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V) started development in 2008 and went on sale in 2013, which means that Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA VI) is expected to be released in 2025. As Rockstar was discussing releases that will establish “new standards in our industry” for the fiscal year 2025, which means that they will begin in 2024, it appeared as though they were providing a pseudo-confirmation of the statement.

An additional piece of information that was provided by Rockstar that suggested that we would not have to wait five years for development is that the company has already announced that the game will have a “more contained” size and that it will grow over time. This indicates that the game will not be as complicated as previous deliveries. For the time being, Rockstar employees have already been ordered to give up their teleworking arrangements and begin focusing on the remaining months of development.

We can say with virtually absolute certainty (although there is nothing official) that Grand Theft Auto VI will be released on the Playstation 5, Xbox Series X/S, as indicated in the first teaser, and also with almost certainty, but potentially some time after the first launch, as is typical for Rockstar, on personal computers. Regarding this matter, Strauss Zelnick, the CEO of Take Two, made the statement that “the absence of advertisements is not something that is written in stone.” It is important to note that the absence of advertisements should not be interpreted as an indication of anything.

Despite the fact that the history of the brand and the fact that it is available in a variety of formats does allow for some uncertainty, it is highly unlikely that the studio will waste time bringing the game to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. As a side note, the low stock levels of consoles manufactured by Sony and Microsoft were the reason that several analysts believed that the launch would not occur until 2024, and they were correct in their assessment.

As of this moment, the announcement of the game in both Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2 was accompanied by a trailer that was released a few days after the announcement. In contrast, the contact that took place this time was done through a post in a community forum, and there were not many ceremonies involved. And a little while later, on December 1st, it was officially confirmed that the first trailer will be released on December 5th, and it was shared throughout various social networks. On the other hand, Rockstar Games’ plans have been altered as a result of a leak, and the first trailer for the game has arrived ahead of time.

What is confirmed in the trailer is not only Vice City but also Leonida’s status. Both of these things are confirmed. Up to that point, there have been rumors, some of which are more trustworthy than others. However, there are other sources that speak of a more contained space with consecutive expansions, and the specialist channel known as “Inside Gaming” discusses the project that is being created under the code name “Project Americas.” It is evident that there is talk of an utterly gigantic mapping.

A period of time was spent contemplating the potential that it may be disseminated not only across the nation, but also directly across the entirety of the American continent. Tom Henderson has already made the announcement that it is possible that things will not progress to that extent.–665d6ba01f740#goto7499–665da007da103#goto7527
