Rockstar said the PC version of 'GTA VI' is not "written in stone"

The only thing that we do not know about the next Grand Theft Auto installment on the personal computer is that we do not know anything about it.

After the trailer that was released in December of last year, which confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI would be available on both the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series, there has been no fresh official announcement regarding the game. As an illustration, and given that the trailer did not mention that format, will we be able to play it on our own computers? What he does highlight is the fact that “the right strategy for our business is to be where the consumer is, and historically what this company has done is address consumers where they are, on whatever platform makes sense, over time.” In other words, as Zelnick writes, “further announcements will be made in due course.” There will be further announcements.

In point of fact, a significant number of the most recent games developed by Rockstar and Take Two have been released on consoles in the past, and then on personal computers a few months later. In the case of the fifth chapter of the Grand Theft Auto series, the format took a year and a half to complete. This phenomenon occurred in Grand Theft Auto IV, Grand Theft Auto V, LA Noire, and Red Dead Redemption 2. For the time being, it is more advantageous for us to remain seated and refrain from updating our personal computer in order to ensure that it is capable of withstanding the technical monster that is expected to be Grand Theft Auto VI.

The development of Grand Theft Auto VI has reached its conclusion. And despite the fact that Rockstar has not provided any additional information regarding extremely exact dates, the current progress of the project, or any other issues, the excitement is palpable. We can say with virtually absolute certainty (although there is nothing official) that Grand Theft Auto VI will be released on the Playstation 5, Xbox Series X/S, as indicated in the first teaser, and also with almost certainty, but potentially some time after the first launch, as is typical for Rockstar, on personal computers. Regarding this matter, Strauss Zelnick, the CEO of Take Two, made the statement that “the absence of advertisements is not something that is written in stone.” It is important to note that the absence of advertisements should not be interpreted as an indication of anything.

Despite the fact that the history of the brand and the fact that it is available in a variety of formats does allow for some uncertainty, it is highly unlikely that the studio will waste time bringing the game to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
