‘Resident Evil’ producer pledges quality and dread

Director Koshi Nakanishi, who was responsible for Resident Evil 7, will be in charge of directing the upcoming edition.

It was disclosed by the Japanese firm through its Capcom Next virtual event that a new iteration of the ‘Resident Evil’ series is currently in the process of being developed. Additionally, it was revealed that Koshi Nakanishi, who was already in charge of ‘Resident Evil 7’ and has been working on the property since 2009 thanks to ‘RE5’, will be directing this new installment. By the same token, they have made it quite apparent that this is neither a remake or a direct sequel, as was the case with ” Resident Evil 8,” but rather an entirely new concept.

Because ‘Resident Evil 7’ is regarded as a game that marks a significant turning point in the series and is believed to be among the best games in the franchise, the anticipation in this regard is substantial. Its transition to the first person meant that the flirtations with military-tinged action were abandoned, and the environment was reverted back to the claustrophobic and labyrinthine atmosphere of the first volumes. This brought the story back to the most authentic survival horror landscape. Additionally, the location was completely reimagined, despite the fact that it still possessed traces of the rural fear that was present in the well-known ” Resident Evil 4 ” for a while.

In point of fact, the fact that many of those action components with military undertones were left out caused many fans to believe that this was not a true “Resident Evil” game. This was due to the fact that the game had a minor link to Umbrella, STARS, and the typical protagonists of the genre. To be more specific, it was the first time in a significant amount of time that a game in the series welcomed new players with such ease.

During his visit, Nakanishi made it quite obvious that, following the relatively unsatisfying release of ‘Resident Evil 6’, the seventh installment was conceived of as a game that would recover the essence that the games in the series “had to terrify you.” The fact that the producer is so clear about this is a positive development, as it seems likely that he would employ it once more in the ninth installment later on. ‘Resident Evil’ has found a winning formula in this particular recipe.

It is important to keep in mind that ‘Resident Evil 7’ is one of the best-selling titles in the franchise, with 12 million copies sold and almost hitting number one. ‘Resident Evil 5’ has sold 13 million copies. Bringing back Nakanishi is a clear indication that Capcom is committed to maintaining a tone and mood that are quite similar to those of the previous version. The question that needs to be answered at this point is whether the producer will make a U-turn that will further separate the franchise from the already typical rural environment of ‘Village’ or whether they will choose to go in a different direction.

It is not the only statement that Capcom has made in its Next that is associated with zombies and horror; a date has also been provided for the deluxe remaster of “Dead Rising,” “Kunitsu Gami: Path of the Goddess” already has a demo, and the aforementioned “Resident Evil 7” is going to be released on iOS. Good times for fans of the carnage, despite the fact that it is evident, based on the movement that has been produced on social networks, that Capcom has in the future ‘Resident Evil 9’ one of the most potent assets that will attract attention in the coming months.

at the webcast that took place at the Next Summer 2024, the Japanese video game maker Capcom confirmed that there will be a new Resident Evil game created. The next installment in the Resident Evil series will be supervised by Koshi Nakanishi, who served as the game director for Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. The title of the next Resident Evil game has not yet been revealed.

A few minutes before the end of the Capcom Next Summer 2024 stream, Koshi Nakanishi himself stated that a new Resident Evil game would be released. In his statement, Nakanishi claims, “We are making a new Resident Evil.” Extending his explanation a little bit further, he continues by saying that it was quite challenging to find out what to do after Resident Evil 7, but he has finally discovered it.

In the words of Nakanishi himself: “But I found it, and to tell you the truth, it actually feels substantial.” I am unable to provide any information at this time; nevertheless, I hope that you are looking forward to the day when I will be able to do so.

Earlier on in the Capcom broadcast, Nakanishi said that when they first began developing the Resident Evil titles, they were not on the right path as a brand. In spite of the fact that the action component of Resident Evil (RE) games was extended, fans continued to have negative feedback when they were released. The terror factor was given the spotlight in Resident Evil 7 Biohazard because, according to Nakanishi, a Resident Evil game ought to be terrifying. This is the reason why he made it the focal point of the game. He went on to say that he had the intention of making Resident Evil 7 the game that would uphold the reputation of the RE brand
