Rockstar Games publishes GTA VI trailer

This past Tuesday, December 5th at 3pm Spanish time, we were anticipating the Grand Theft Auto VI trailer, but Rockstar Games’ plans were abruptly altered due to a leak. The development firm behind the highly anticipated game decided to scrap its original concept and release the game ahead of schedule when the first trailer started making the rounds on social media.

‘Grand Theft Auto VI’ has its official screenshots here. Through a blend of nostalgia and modernity, the teaser beckons us to go on an open-world adventure in the signature manner of the franchise, bringing back one of its most popular and iconic cities. We are referring to Vice City, which was modeled after Miami and was previously shown in the 2002 film of the same name.

Going back to Vice City after a few years
Though Grand Theft Auto V has held up well over the years, this game promises a visual upgrade that will transport us to console or PC settings where neon lights illuminate the night and vibrant beach colors define the day. The city’s ever-changing dynamics, driven by opulence, ambition, desire, and criminality, cover it all.

Right now, we don’t have a clue about the game’s playable character count, but in the first video, we meet Lucía, a former prisoner who will reenter the criminal underworld with someone who seems to be her companion. There is still a lot to learn about the game because, other from the graphics released today, not much is known about it.

This past Tuesday, the release date of the game became very obvious. The press statement from Take-Two Interactive label expands upon the idea that the teaser promises the title’s launch in 2025. for the specified date, the game will be available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S. However, there are no clues regarding when it will be available on PC, so a delayed launch could be in store.

The latest developments with this project are sure to be noted and may provide valuable lessons for the industry as a whole. Launching on December 5 at 9 am ET (5 pm, Spanish peninsular time), Rockstar’s flagship title is the culmination of years of development and millions of dollars in investment. Plus, a leak alters the whole situation.

An X (formerly Twitter) clip starts making the rounds at approximately 5:30 pm ET (11:30 5 pm, Spanish time). A short while after the video was published, the social media platform bans the account responsible for sharing it due to a violation of their rules of service. Rockstar releases the official game trailer at 6:10 pm ET (12:10 am), mirroring the earlier leaked teaser.

This, however, was not the sole episode that revealed the initiative. Some pictures that appear to be related to the game—more especially the visual style of Vice City—surfaced on social media last weekend. Where did they come from? A Rockstar employee’s son, according to GTABase. A cyberattack and subsequent disclosure hit the company last year.

Whether or when the project managers issue a statement regarding what transpired is something we will have to wait for. As previously said, Grand Theft Auto VI is expected to release in 2025, and we already have the first images of the game. Development of the game will continue. Returning to Vice City with fresh faces and objectives will need patience.
