In spite of the fact that Broncano does not surpass Motos, his performance demonstrates that there is room for some competition.

The (unlikely) scenario of ‘La revuelta,’ the retreated version of ‘La resistencia’ that Broncano has launched on TVE to compete with ‘El hormiguero’ failing in ratings, is ruled out. This is because there are no surprises that could occur. As of the first day, its very notable figures are standing up to Motos’ program, which has not yet been challenged by anyone else. At the beginning of this academic year, there is no question that the competition for prime time is going to give rise to a great deal of excitement.

Just the numbers. All expectations, including those of the presenter himself, were greatly exceeded by Broncano’s debut performance. At the Vitoria FesTVal celebration that took place the previous week, he stated, “If we get 15% on Monday, I believe it, but if we get 6%, I believe it too.” He continued by saying that the channel had a 17.1% share and 2,152,000 viewers, which is a figure that is extremely unusual for La 1. As a result, the channel received six points more than the average for the day for the channel. ‘MasterChef Celebrity’ premiered with a score of 11.3%, demonstrating the success that spread throughout the show.

The title “El hormiguero” is still in use. It is not surprising that the spectacular figures of Pablo Motos’ program have not been affected by this success; however, it is not surprising that Antena 3 is keeping a close eye on the next moves that ‘La revuelta’ will make. In point of fact, other access programs such as “First Dates,” “El intermedio,” and even “Cifras y letras” were able to surpass Latre’s figures. Broncano and Motos were also successful with these programs.

Keep everyone from getting carried away. A couple of significant facts need to be taken into consideration in order to evaluate these numbers in the appropriate manner: first and foremost, it is Broncano’s first appearance on La 1. It is likely that a significant number of its viewers would be curious to find out whether the program had lost its acidity or its distinguishing characteristics, and also whether the guest had not been announced in advance. Similar to how ‘El Hormiguero’ could not allow itself to have a poor performance yesterday, it resorted to a sure bet, which was a personality that was very media-friendly in his first interview.

This is because we have one of the most popular and widely watched programs on television going up against a space for fans and accomplices. This is something that was already detected in the presentation that was mentioned earlier in Vitoria, which was full of statements that made it clear that the program would continue to be what it has always been. It is not entirely clear that there will be room for additional competitors, as Latre’s nosedive demonstrates: the two-party system comes to access, ready to destroy everything that stands in its way. This is something that is not immediately apparent.
